I first saw this video in 6th grade when my music teacher showed the whole class this beatboxing flute player. I thought it was amazing then and still do. He is so flipping greattttt!

-The link doesn't work but if you type in "beatboxing flute player peter and the wolf" on youtube he comes up.

Video post

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6GvTLfV8fls
I think this guy is amazing! I wish I could do that! I think we should watch this because a lot of people don't know about spoken word, or don't think of poetry as a modern art form, when many rappers stared or have previously done spoken word. I also think that people who can't appreciate poetry, but appreciate music don't realize how close they are. A song is really a poem and many artists write songs as poems first.

Tueday Conversations

THIS IS A BLOG POST.

Ok, the conversation we had on Tuesday was one of the most ridiculous experiences i have ever had at WDS, and i have had some pretty ridiculous experiences. It's one thing to talk about the concept of a soul, but debating whether or not rocks have souls was just ridiculous. Now im not saying i didn't partake in the debate ( if you want to call it that), but i feel as if that was one of the most useless, un-educational conversations ever. EVAR. Not to mention that everyone interrupted everyone everytime everyone talked. Thats a lot of everys.

THAT WAS A BLOG POST.

I love my life when.

I love my life when i am in fire island. You don't have to worry about anything, and you just spend the whole day at the beach, doing what ever you want. It is very relaxing, and always a good time.

I love my life when...

In class last week we each finished the sentence, I love my life when... For me, I love my life when it is summer. I am always happy when the weather is warm, I'm not worrying about school work, and I can relax and do whatever I want. One of my favorite things about summer is forgetting what day of the week it is, I don't have to think about anything and i just have fun.

Truth: Grace

I would like to find out the truth about what really happened in history. I think that the U.S tends to make history look good for us, and i want to know what really happened according to other countries and people.

Truth: Mimi

I would like to know how young the youngest person was to die of natural causes.

Truth

I would like to know what happens after you die.

Did Osama Bin Laden really die?

I personally believe the government in that Osama Bin Laden is really dead. I also understand their reason for deciding not to release the pictures that apparently show evidence of his death. At the end of the day, i have decided that no matter what kind of evidence is given to the public, there will always be people who doubt the government, and i am not saying thats not appropriate either; as it is the duty of the people to sometimes have doubt in their government.

Dear Katya
Hey Katya your kind of loud and always baby talking us, (us being your two guinea pigs) but we love it when you pet us, and you always make sure were ok. so thanks, and thanks for the new hutch.
Lots of love, toasty and otis. p.s. more apple would be great!!!

Dear Maralina,

You're so loud, and constantly saying things irrelevant to everything. You're also kind of mean. Why do you do those things? You could be such a nice person if you just tried.

Random act of kindness

For my random act if kindness I spread change on the path that the kids on my block walk on on the way to our bus stop. but either no one noticed, or they didn't care anough to pick it up. so I will
Probably just take it and get gum, because I love gum!

Random Act of Kindness

Last week, while I was at Cumberland Farms buying some food with my friends, the kid behind me was a few cents short to buy a soda. I gave him my change to pay with, and quoted Reddit with "Today me, tomorrow you". He bought the soda, and then payed it forward by putting the rest of the change into the Take-a-Penny collector thing.

Random act of Kindness

over spring break my family from long island came to visit.
my uncle used to work at the mohonk mountain house, and wanted to go there and visit, and of course hike the amazing trails.
while we were climbing rocks and such i noticed another family. the mom had a lot of kids with her and didnt notice one of the couldnt really climb that well and was falling behind. so, i went over and helped him. his mom thanked me and told me i was sweet.

Random Act of Kindness

For my random act of kindness I told 5 random people on the street that they looked beautiful today.

Random Act YOO

As a random act of kindness, i hid rice cakes all over my brothers room. I thought that this would just be so swell. When ever he feels that hunger comin' on, he can just reach into his pillow case, or open his closet, and there he will find a special treat.

Random act of Kindness

My random act of kindness was putting a clementine in someones locker. When I watched how they reacted, there first thought was that something was wrong with it.

Random Act of Kindness

My random act of kindness was, when I dropped 100 pennies on the ground in Kingston. I didn't stand next to the pennies and watch every person that walked by to see what they did, that would be odd, but I saw one person pick up a bunch of them. Yup, a lot of them.

My Random Act of Kindness

For Spring break my random act of kindness was helping a friends mom to get her garden ready for summer. I was mostly just raking up leaves, and while that seems boring, i didn't really mind. There really isn't much more to this, so im going to stop typing in 3, 2, 1.

ULTRA BLOG POST FTW

In which I will totally pro it up and get all my overdue blog posts done. LIKE A BOSS

Question
Here's the scenario: You are sitting in front of your computer, reading a blog post on this blog. It asks you a hypothetical question after giving you a few sentences about a hypothetical scenario. Do you answer seriously, come up with a joke answer, or just ignore the question and continue your day?

Next Project
We should listen to one song repeatedly as often as possible for a few weeks, and take notes the whole time about what we notice / think of the song. We aren't allowed to listen to anything else or watch any TV shows or movies or anything that might have other music, just the one song. Do we end up hating it, or does it become our favorite song?

Laughing Squid
Here's a pro INSTANT REVIEW: I thought it was a good blog, but I just don't really like blogs so I probably won't read it. I liked the fact that they had a competent web designer.

Japanland
The Japanese tsunami has effected kids our age by giving us our first really big world disaster. Most of us didn't really get what was going on during the Boxing Day tsunami, and the earthquakes in Haiti weren't as big as this one, and didn't come with a tsunami. We're actually seeing what it's like when a country seriously gets messed right the shit up.

Something something Charlie Sheen
CHARLIE SHEEN IS MLG PRO STATUS. PEOPLE TALK ABOUT HOW HIS EGO IS TOO BIG, OR HE HAS WAY TOO MANY THINGS WRONG WITH HIS PSYCHE DUE TO THE FAME AND CA$H, OR HE'S DAMAGED HIS BRAIN WITH THE DRUGS. YOU KNOW WHAT? CHARLIE SHEEN DESERVES HIS EGO, BECAUSE HE'S A PRO. HE WAS DOING 7g ROCKS AND FINISHING THEM, OK? HE WAS MAKING $2M AN EPISODE FOR BEING AN ACTOR ON A SHOW THAT NOBODY EVEN LIKED, BECAUSE HE IS SUCH A PRO THAT HE MADE THE COMPANY GIVE HIM A COMPLETELY UNFAIR CONTRACT.

AND ON THE SUBJECT OF HIS "ISSUES," IT'S ONLY AN ISSUE IF IT HAS A NEGATIVE IMPACT ON YOUR LIFE. DO YOU SEE ANYTHING HAVING A NEGATIVE IMPACT ON CARLOS IRWIN GOD DAMN ESTEVEZ'S LIFE? NO, YOU DON'T, BECAUSE HIS LIFE IS FRAKKING PERFECT. HE HAS TWO GIRLFRIENDS THAT ARE BOTH RIDONKADONK ON THE HOTNESS SCALE, AND STILL HOOKS UP WITH HIS HOT EX WIFE ALL THE TIME.

AND HE'S A MILLIONAIRE. WHAT NOW, EVERYONE? HE LIVES IN THE BEST HOUSE EVER, BECAUSE MILLIONAIRES GET TO HAVE FIVE-STAR LUXURY MANSIONS. THAT'S JUST HOW CARLOS IRWIN ESTEVEZ DO, ALRIGHT?

CLEARLY, THIS FIVE-STAR MLG PRO RAHEALTR HAS NO ISSUES WHATSOEVER. HE'S ABLE TO COAST THROUGH LIFE JUST FINE. THE FACT THAT HE'S SO SUCCESSFUL EVEN THOUGH HE'S NEVER EVEN REALLY DONE ANYTHING IS A TESTAMENT TO THAT.

THE MAN IS A PRO, EVEN HIS NON-ISSUE ISSUES ARE HALF FAKED, AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHY PEOPLE SEE ANY PROBLEM WITH HIM. YEAH, HE'S GOING TO VOICE HIS MLG RADICAL OPINIONS, YOU KNOW WHY? BECAUSE HE HAS MORE MONEY AND MORE AWESOMENESS THAN YOU, AND HE DOESN'T CARE WHAT YOU THINK BECAUSE YOU'RE JUST A DUMB POOR PERSON. WHEN YOU ACHIEVE EVEN HALF HIS LEVEL OF MLG RAHEALTY, YOU MIGHT GET TO THINK ABOUT CRITICIZING HIM, OK? IN THE MEAN TIME, ACCEPT THAT HE'S BETTER THAN YOU OR ME OR ANYONE WE KNOW.

OUT

Alright
That's all the overdue assignments. Peace.

GRAMMAR!

Okay. Brubin is making me re-write my post. With correct grammar and no spelling mistakes. I'm using apostrophes and capitals and periods. Aren't I a pro? So pro, I'm aware. See Brubin? My spelling, grammar, and the rest of my post is immaculate. I really do have an excellent range of vocabulary, and my level of comprehension is out of this world. FOR REAL.
Another thing that bothers me is when people say your, when obouviously the correct thing to say is you're. Does it make sense to say your cool? No. YOU'RE. Like you are. Wow.
Brubin why are you reading our blog posts? They're boring and we don't really care... BYE NOW.

Today is April Fools Day.

Today during April fool's at morning meeting someone put all the AP chairs in the bathroom. I am wondering if there will be more April fools day jokes today.

We shouldn't be in school todaayy. Ian is being a creepy weirdo and licking all of the tables and chairs. Brubin is cheering him on and Maralina is creeping up on Julia. And during all of this Mimi is just sitting in a chair itching her braids.

Ha, I'm only kidding. Maybe.

Next Project

I think for our next project we should give up music for a week.
No radio, cds, or ipods.
Then everyday we should blog about how we feel and what we now do without music.

Friday, March 25, 2011

Idea's for next Project

For 1 whole week, go without any electronics (phones, Ipods, TV, games... etc). The only time you can use your computer is for school research, typing papers (and maybe for blogging.)

We can either use the internet to blog, or at the end of the week blog. We could blog about how we felt, what we did when we wanted to use an electronic, Overall experience.

My thoughts on laughingsquid

I didn't really like laughingsquid because they didn't really post about things I was interested in.

Laughing Squid

The Laughing Squid is a pretty cool blog. Personally, I don't think that I would read it too often because I am not particularly interested in the content. However, it was interesting, and sometimes funny. What I really liked about it is that is wasn't too "heavy", like some of the other blogs. A lot of the news these days is very depressing, but the Laughing Squid features mostly articles, videos, and links about technology and modern society. I think it's targeted at people who are interesting in whats going on in the world of an "average American". Normal people, and their everyday lives.

Laughing Squid

I think that the Laughing Squid blog is very interesting and has some cool pictures, but i think that it is not extremely needed. Well of course its nice for many people to read, but i feel like i have seen better blogs/websites very similar to this, but better in my opinion. Like stumbleupon.com, even though it's not exactly a blog, its point is to stream the internet of random things that you could find anywhere, which kind of reminds me of some of the photos and posts on Laughing Squid. So yeah man.

&
- When you first start watching the video it is confusing. At the end though it all makes sense. I though it was cool how they filmed it.
The things that are posted I don't really like a lot of them. But some of them really do stand out, and are really cool!

The Evil Babies!

I went for what i thought would be a quick stroll in the park during my lunch break, not realizing what i ultimately would get myself into. I noticed two babies un-supervised sitting in their strollers off to the side of the path. I was going to call the police to report the babies, when i noticed a strange noise from one of them, or, what i thought was strange. It turned out they were speaking! These weren't 1 1/2 year old babies. They were maybe 6 months old, and i started to realize that they were having a conversation.
"So tonight, im going to distract her while you steal the milk!" one said. The other replied, "Why am i always the one who has to distract her!"
"Because your the youngest one; i don't get any sympathy from her anymore. AND this is te last time we need milk. Soon we will have enough to Sink the CITY!!!!! MWAAHAHA."
I just stood there for about an hour eavesdropping on their conversation, and at the same time pondering the possibility that i could be crazy. All of a sudden i heard one of them say "Watch out shes coming back!" I guess this was their mom, but i couldnt understand why a mother of two babies would leave them alone in a park for an hour. They left, so of course i left too, and realized i had skipped an hour over my work day. My boss was enraged when i got back, and i lost that job on that day. Because i was unemployed, i spent that whole night looking for jobs, and as a result of that ended up sleeping in till about 12:00. I woke up, rubbed my eyes, and looked out my apartment window. It seemed like a nice day so i decided to go for a jog. Just as i exited my apartment building thats when i saw it. Milk. Everywhere. Milk had covered the streets of Manhattan and it was racing towards me. I ran back inside, went up the elevator, back into my apartment, and watched out my window as the level of the milk started to rise. Higher, and higher, and higher. We were all doomed.

Japan

As all of you know, Japan recently experienced and earthquake, followed by a tsunami. The affects were massive: the earthquake sitting at 8.9 on the richter scale, and the tsunami causing most of the damage. Thousands have died and several nuclear reactors have stopped working, becoming so hot that a possible meltdown could occur; one of the reactors fuel rods have even been exposed, causing massive amounts of radiation around and on the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant.
I think that kids in the United States that know about the tragedies that have occurred in Japan are appreciating where they live but at the same time feel very bad for the kids in Japan. Unfortunately, some kids don't even know whats going on in Japan. You can only hope that these kids will watch the news, or read about it online, because at the same time that it is a tragedy, breaking news is always educational, and i know i've learned more about Tsunami's and Nuclear Reactors because of Japan.

Japan

Recently in japan a terrible earthquake took place. It took affect on many people, damaging homes and ruining lives. Because of the tsunami that came along with the quake, the systems that cool the nuclear reactors are melting. The radio active waves that are coming off from it can cause cancers to develop in young people all over japan.

Thursday, March 17, 2011

JAPAN. crazy stuff kids.

Recently an earthquake and tsunami struck Japan. 10's of 1000's of people have died, and even worse then the earthquake or tsunami , is the aftermath. Buildings, homes, and schools have been destroyed, if not damaged. Tons of people have lost family, friends, coworkers, etc.
One of the major issues Japan and some of the rest of Asia are now dealing with are the erupting rods in a nuclear power plant, 4 or more have already burst, letting tons of radioactive gas out into the atmosphere. People have been told to be careful and keep certain parts of their bodies covered at all times. Not only has the radioactive gas effected people now, but it may be effecting the future of Japan, it has been said the too much radiation exposure can cause deformities, and mental conditions in children that haven't even been born yet.
All that is left to do now, is give all the help you can, and pray for Japan.

Japan

The earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan has caused many deaths and injuries and has affected companies in Japan. On top of this, the damage to several nuclear reactors carries the risk of radiation poisoning to people who live near them and to even more people if there are meltdowns. This would be devastating to everyone in Japan. There is also some risk that the radiation could be carried by wind to other countries including possibly the United States west coast. The crisis will also affect the world's economy because Japan is the world's third largest economy after the US and China. We rely on Japan for things like cars and electronics (computers, iPads, cell phones...). There could be a shortage of these things that will affect kids.

Tuesday, March 15, 2011

the reason why i think that some one our age would be affected by japan is because some ones parents could be in japan and could have died and then they wouldn't see them ever again
at this point every one has heard about the tragedy in japan i mean it imposable to not here about it its every ware like no joke every ware. people are talking about how this is going to effect the economy all around the world and search and rescue and all that jazz. not to say that's not all really impotent, but no one is saying or possibly considering how it will affect the younger generation of Americans. because it will. for sure's its going to affect a lot of carp like. a lot of school a lot classes like social study are putting there topics on hold and really looking at the earth-quack and tsunami. there will also be a lot of like programs for teens to help out japan ya know like raising money. kids who were to young to under stand the extent of the last natural disaster will be able to see the kind of tragedy it brings.

Japan's Natural Disasters

I think Japan's crisis will certainly affect us now and in the future. During the earthquake and tsunami, many shops and stores have been shut down and destroyed causing major dents in Japan's economy. I think this also affects America and our generation. Automakers and other exporters have been shut down causing the supply and demand system to come undone. I think it will take a good amount of time for Japan and the Global Economy to recover fully and that this disaster will cause problems running into our generation when we are older.

Who did not post yet?

Come on now!

Charlie Shean

After watching the interview, i think that Charlie Shean has some obvious issues. But despite the media, i'm on his side! I think if continues to make an effort to work on his drug problem, he deserves a second chance!

Charlie Sheen..

You have to go to- http://FunnyOrDie.com/m/5cwg

For some reason this Charlie Sheen video made me laugh so much, he talks about his

recipe for "winning" and puts Charlie Sheen into his food. I think it's good that

he is at least aware of what he has been saying on interviews, but I still think that

he is a bit insane.

(Sorry I couldn't get the link to work)

Charlie Sheen on 20/20

Charlie Sheen Interview

I had never heard about Charlie Sheen before, watching the video I thinks he is a little crazy.

Charlie Sheen was on the show Two and a Half Men, and he has spent a lot of time with that show. He got fired from the show on March 7th 2011. Now that his career life is over ( for Two and Half Men), it seems like he is trying to get attention. I think he has done good with his career and should just move on. He has a family and kids, i think he should just spend time with them since the show probably took a lot of his time.

One of the questions in the interview that I thought was interesting was, why do you think people love you so much? Charlie said because he is honest. I disagree I think it's because of his personality, he says funny and goofy stuff that a lot of people like to talk about, which makes him popular.

Tuesday, March 8, 2011

charlie sheen

so after watching this video, i am less convinced that charlie sheen is crazy. i think he defiantly needs therapy, he might not on eny drugs, (other then charlie sheen) but he has crap load of emotional baggage, and as for his huge ego, well i think half of it is realy but the other half is just fake, and covering up fear .

Charlie sheen

http://abcnews.go.com/2020/video/charlie-sheen-watch-2020-interview-abc-news-special-edition-13033821

this interview was good. i learned new things about Charlie Sheen. it was very funny and a little messed up.at the beginning of the interview he looks and sounds like he is on drugs half way through it they make him take a drug test and somehow he passed it.

CHAARLIE SHEEN!

Charlie Sheen is definitely the most interesting celebrity news right now. After watching his interview on ABC, i found myself laughing so hard that i didn't actually focus on the interview,
so instead i will talk about something else: while the drugs and the alcohol aspects of Charlie Sheens issues my be legitimate, do YOU think that what he says and how he acts and thinks is really him? Has he really gone crazy? You would think that his popularity would go DOWN, but it in fact went up when a RE-RUN of two and a half men was the most watched show on TV for that night. Is it all for publicity? YOU decide in the comments below.

BTW, im on Charlie Sheen right now (watch the video)
and Dying is for fools.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5aSa4tmVNM

i think that this interview was very interesting and very inappropriate for this reporter to just ask

Charlie sheen about his drug life. i dont think that anyone should be in any ons life like that. itt

was

a good interview but unnecessary i learned a lot that he can be selfish and how he didn't care about

the girl who he gave drugs to and she was thinking that she would O.D. on drugs. but

my focus on this would be why the reporter is getting in to his personal life

Tuesday, March 1, 2011

I think we should go with the hide and seek or uncomfortable chain idea. Go to guinnessworldrecords.com and see some records that we might be able to break :)
http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/Search/Details/Largest-collection-of-radios/60209.htm

i think this is very interesting that
M. Prakash (India) has 625 different types of radio that he has collected since the 1970’s. so that must have taken a long time to

world record

longest stationary Manuel is 49 seconds.http://www.guinessworldrecords.com/Search/Details/Longest-skateboard-stationary-manual/65754.htm

WORLD RECORDS!

I think that we should try to break an existing record. One record that seemed like fun, is largest human smiley face. The current record holds at 250 people. I think that if we get enough people from the community we could beat this! What do you guys think?

WORLD RECORDDD!

I think we should stick with our original plan for the longest uncomfortable chain.

I DON'T CARE IF MATTHEW SAYS NO!

world record

WORLD RECORDS

Today in 8th grade digital voices, we were discussing what kind of record we wanted to break.
One idea was the longest uncomfortable chain, if you have any more ideas, post them to the blog.

Submitting a World Record

So you want to submit something you did to the Guinness World Records corporation.  Good luck.

Before I start: Here's a really handy resource on the official Guinness website.

The first thing you'll need to do is contact Guinness before you break the record you're trying for. Contacting them afterward will net you several issues; for one thing, if you came up with the record, they may not accept it. It could all be a waste of time. For another thing, they need proof that you broke the record; when you call them ahead of time, they tell you what form of proof to give them. If you come up with your own method to prove it, they may not accept it.

After that, you'll just need to send this proof to them. They can be reached at:
  • Guinness World Records Limited
    184-192 Drummond Street
    3rd Floor
    London NW1 3HP
    United Kingdom

    OR:
  • Guinness World Records North America, Inc.
    Suite 902
    45 West 45th St.
    New York
